Description

Hello everybody. So, when i was young i had time to play and spend tons of time around computers, building and changing components . (I miss my old Antec 1200 build).

So after a few years without not much time to hobby's and computers stuff (because of other life projects), i finally can afford a new pc and of course free time. For the past few years i had always in mind this moment.
I build this system because i enjoy gaming and more lately photography and image editing. Well, i call it a multi purpose entertainment PC.

This time i wanted to build something better looking than the Antec 1200 build, that's because i was careful with color coordination and choose withe and black parts. For example: bitfenix white extensions; bitfenix white magnetic stripe, and some withe tape on the hard drives to additional contrast.

I used the pc part picker site to help me to choose the right components.
The parts were bought in Europe (Switzerland) but i wanted to share with all you my pc build.

Hope you like the photos. The video (kind of) you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwnyNcfSSDM

Cheers.

Edit: After two weeks later everything is just working plentiful. I'm enjoying a lot. The only thing i would change is buying a bigger SSD. A least 500 Gb, and i bigger screen. 27" would be a better choice for my needs.

Cheers.

Very beautiful build !! Where did you buy the cable combs ?

  • 1 point

Bought it on a online store in switzerland. Those are from "e22" cablecombs.

That's a sexy looking B&W. I would love to see what an HOF would look like in it.

  • 1 point

Well, i don't regret this "almost black" graphic card, but after seeing all your comments, i have to agree that a white (asus dual gtx series or HOF would be better looking.

I was really indecisive which one to choose but finally i took the less expensive.

Maybe in a future upgrade?!

Thanks

The black works but it just seems to make the whole bottom dark, at least you can break it up with the White ASUS LED :)

what temp you get with this liquid cooler (idle/load) ?

  • 1 point

Well didn't make any hard test yet, but temps are quite good for what it is. On idle temps stay about 30 C°. Since I have a non k cpu and I'm not planning to make any overclocks, this single 120 mm watercooling is good enough for my needs... If I pretended to overclock I would choose the x41or x61. I should mention that i installed a EK vardar f4 120 pwm fan replacing the original one from nzxt. This new one gives more airflow and higher static pressure comparing to the nzxt.

I always love those black and white builds, planning on putting one together soon. Your cable management is fantastic, couldn't have asked for much better. I love the white RAM, it helps a lot with the color scheme. I noticed, being nitpicky, that the bottom of the case is a little black-heavy in the color scheme, I would have considered one of the Asus Dual Series cards which are white. However, great build (that asus z170 is really the only choice for builds like these isn't it).

You're right. It was a difficult choice between the turbo gtx 1060 and the Asus dual gtx 1060 but the turbo was more affordable. The turbo has the Asus white logo and i thought that should be nice as well. But yeah a bit more white at the bottom would give more black and white balance.

This motherboard was a easy choice no doubt.

Thanks.

Hey I was checking v1tech and I was wondering what gpu backplate did you buy to fit the Asus turbo 1060.

  • 2 points

I bought the nvidia claw. During the order process youI'll be ask which is your gpu brand and which specifications have your graphics card. Then you can choose color scheme and design.

I was planning on getting one for the asus turbo 1060 but I don't see the option for it. Like what graphics card do I selected to get the size u got.

  • 1 point

There is no option (for now) to the Turbo 1060. You must choose "other" and then write your graphics card name. I think its exactly the same size of the two big brothers from asus. The Turbo 1070 and 1080. Because mine has a small cut for the SLI bridge. Anyway just write your GPU model.

Very nice rig Joe. I'm doing one very very similar. Question. How do you like your 1060? I'm debating between the 1060 and 1070 for playing WoW on ultra, and a few other games at 1080p 60hz.

Also, are you using custom sata cables to match your build? If so, which cables? I'm sorry one last question! Your CPU cooler: is it led lit? Cheers!

  • 1 point

Hello. Sorry for the delay. Well if i was building a new one, ill chose the 1070, because is more future proof... You can always upgrade and make SLI. With the gtx 1060 you cant do it. But overall im satisfied.

The sata cables comes with the motherboard bundle. 3x sata. They have some white portions on the connectors. But the cable itself is black.

For the Sata power i bought some white tape, and scotched only where was visible. (On the connector)

No. The cpu cooler doesnt have a led.

Cheers.

Thanks.

With you there on the 1060 vs 1070 but I only have a budget for the 1060 right now. I also definitely need a blower style card for my SFF build. Is this card loud and does it run hot? Great build and overall ambiance btw!

  • 1 point

While playing crysis for exemple the fan can go a bit loud and hot. But nothing too much excessive. Playing gta5 the fan stay quite at 50% rpm. Can't distinguish between the gpu fan or the sytem fans loudness. If you can make a effort go for the gtx 1070. There's a video with the 1060 and crysis. Cheers. https://youtu.be/eYROik6LnUU

i'm from the philippines. shipping from amazon would cost me an additional roughly a third of the price. and warranty claims would be harder.
