First time building a mini-ITX PC.
The case in question is the Caselabs BH2. The motherboard is probably the best in class i guess; wanted to go with Asus z370-I but the MSI was 33% cheaper and hence was not reasonable to with the ASUS considering that both the boards are precisely similar.
Got a used pair of Corsair Vengeance 32GB for half the retail price else would have used Trident Z RGB.
Now i know that it is best to have a blower GPU but i already had the STRIX 1080 Ti which I intended to use for an ATX build, however decided to go with the miniITX build and am quite happy to do that. The side face on the BH2 case facing the GPU was removed (resulting in a 10 degrees Celsius difference).
I have seen people mount air cooler; i decided to go with H100i 240mm, it was slightly a tight fit but. It was not the cheapest by any means but I am biased towards the Corsair H100i and H115i, plus it has 5 years warranty. They act as intake while a Noctua fan at front act as an exhaust. Could only fit one system fan. The GTX 1080 Ti Strix length exceeds the maximum recommended for this case if you intend to 2 fans at the front. There is less than 10mm space available between the front of the fans and the GPU.
The system weighs less than 5kG I believe. It was easy to build in this case and the cable management was unexpectedly quite manageable.
Temps under full load (ambient 23 degrees):
[Running Cinebench multiple times and Time Spy DLC as well as Assassin's Creed Origins Benchmark]
Configuration 1: (H100i at top as intake, front fan as exhaust, fans in silent operation mode) Cpu: 57 degrees Celsius. GPU: 64 degrees Celsius.
Configuration 2: (H100i at top as exhaust, front fan as intake, fans in silent operation mode) Cpu: 61 degrees Celsius. GPU: 65 degrees Celsius.
If the side facing the GPU is covered with a window, the GPU temp stays around 75 degrees.
The screenshots indicate temperatures at different points in the system.
