Description

Built for portability. I move back and forth between school and home often and never really liked being limited to my slow and small 2012 Asus Vivobook for work duty. Gaming was basically impossible.

First things first, the 980ti is still an absolute beast for 1080p 144hz gaming. Makes me question why I even bought a GTX 1080 and 5700XT.

CPU is stock and ram (Micron B-die) is currently running 3333mhz @ 16-16-18-38 1.4v 1.05v SOC. Nothing special, but it works and looks great.

Temps are pretty good and noise levels are not too bad at all:

Cpu fan curve is 35% @ 20C - 60C and 50% - 80% @ 63C - 90C. GPU is stock.

@ 24C Ambient: (Coolermaster Mastergel Maker on both CPU and GPU

CPU Idle - 37C

CPU Load (Realbench) - 79C

GPU Idle - 53C (Fans don't turn on until 60C on this card)

GPU Load (Heaven - 30 mins) - 81C

Half full Kirkland Signature™ Purified Water and Colgate™ Total Care Advanced Whitening toothpaste for scale.

Side note - I bought this ram kit despite the lack of pictures and reviews online. I think they look great (imo, they look better than my Vengeance Pro and Trident Neos). Micron B-dies seem mediocre at best but hey, its pretty hard to complain about a good looking 16gb RGB kit that goes for 60$ all the time.

I don't like Colgate, I personally think Lacalut is a much better paste.

For whatever reason, taobao won't let me select options and the add to cart button isn't doing anything. Is the case available anywhere else?

Try ordering direct from AliExpress. It's basically Asia's Newegg or Amazon. Use a prepaid Visa or MasterCard if you have concerns, although I've never had any issues using a bank issued credit card.

I have a question about the custom silver wire cabling. Is it thinner than regular gauge of OEM cables?

  • 1 point

These cables are thinner, but from what I have heard/read, they are completely safe. I used these cables in couple of other builds (some much high wattage than this) and they have been working fine for months.

  • 1 point

So would regular cables fit under the GPU like you have them running or would they be too thick?

Wow, prettyest build ive seen in a while. Great job man.

I'm sorry I still can't fully grasp the size of this. Can you place a banana near it?

What a clean build, especially the case and fittings. One question though, how much fps does the 980 get?

I love this build, looks clean and shines bright. You did amazing. (i love the water bottle and toothpaste)

Where is the banana for scale? This could be a massive tube of toothpaste for all I know >:(

Amazing people, the amount of creativity I come across makes my build look basic lmao. By the way these rams look sick dude I wonder if they work on intel motherboards

  • 1 point

Thanks!

As for the ram, they should be 100% fine. To my knowledge, the "Ryzen compatible" and "Intel compatible" tag is mostly marketing fluff. I tested them in my housemates 8700k rig for you and it ran at xmp without any issues.

any chance you know the custom cable lengths for this case?

trying to figure it out as i'm building in this case as well.

btw sweet looking build.

does your wraith prism make a lot of noise or no?

still bigger than a toddler's porta-potty. Port-ITX > Porta-Potty

For the price you paid for that b450 board you could've gotten an x570 board.

  • 1 point

Are you sure about that? I can't find one under £200.

And if you don't want PCIe 4.0 I don't see the benefit, especially for mITX.

Runs greater TDP too.
