Description

Okay so I just completed, well almost completed my second build. I say almost completed because I just sold my MSI Gaming X 1080 ti, and I have ordered 2x Asus Strix ROG OC 1080 ti's for sli. This is my all out, no holding back build. The only thing I skimped on was the RAM. I have never used the TridentZ RGB before so I wasn't sure how I would like it. Turns out I love the look. So next pay day I will be purchasing another 16GB kit.

I just enjoy building PCs and getting ridiculous with it. I really have no use with a desktop other than to run a few games and VR. I use my laptop for everything (Dell XPS 15 9560 i7, 32GB DDR4, GTX 1050, 1TB NVMe, 4k, etc.). So after I get bored of it in a few weeks/months it will be for sale. Either part out or whole system.

I will upload pictures when my gpu's get here on Sunday.

The only way I can think of making it better is building a dual custom loop. I never built a water cooling system before so I didn't want to risk it leaking on such high end parts.

Edit: Just added Pictures. Also added a picture of my xps 9560, akitio node, and my 4k oled that I connect to.

Edit: 3D Mark Score - http://www.3dmark.com/fs/13413203

Edit: Sold the Strix 1080 ti's to move to Sli Titan Xp's... Ended up with Sli Gaming X 1080 ti's. Also added another 16gb of Trident z rgb to bring the total to 32GB of 3000mhz (will try overclocking the ram soon) also added a second Samsung 960 Drive and a WD HDD. Installed Corsair individually sleeved cables and CableMods AIO tube covers.

You know what I love about PC builds? It's that even though 9,000$ is clearly outrageous for a computer, it's actually not much when compared to other, much more socially accepted, leisure expenses. I just showed this to a friend of mine and he said: "Okay, so basically it's being used as a 9,000$ casual-console with VR capabilities and unless the owner is doing Machine Learning or computationally-intense workloads, the 6,000$ he overspent is basically trashed money."

To which I responded: "Ironic, considering you bought a 67,000$ sailboat two years ago."

I think it's awesome you've ear-marked some loot to purchase these items. Your build is sick and who cares if you only look at it like it's art or play the odd games/vr on it. Good for you! Happy to see people are building out their dream builds and having fun doing so - tis' all that matters.

+1 sir (or madam) :)

P.-S. The case is insane looking. Had i seen this one before, I would have not purchased my Corsair 570X.

P.-S.S Titan Xp's on SLI... god damn that's cool. Please more pics/benchmarks!

Nice build! Although I noticed you have entered the video card twice on your parts list. In actuality, this rig should be around 7300, not 8000. Of course, there is probably a reason you entered it twice, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I have 2x MSI 1080ti Gaming X in sli

+1 for a great build! :D

A few white or clear cable combs would make your clean cable management even a bit cleaner :-)

If your 7900X is overclocked to 4.7 GHz, how are your CPU temps under load? Did you delid the 7900X or do you sometimes get throttling at 4.7 GHz if you run a synthetic benchmark?

And I have two questions about your two 1080 Ti SLI GPUs...

1) You first wrote "I just sold my MSI Gaming X 1080 ti, and I have ordered 2x Asus Strix ROG OC 1080 ti's for sli", and then you edited that to say "Sold the Strix 1080 ti's to move to Sli Titan Xp's... Ended up with Sli Gaming X 1080 ti's". So did you originally have just one MSI Gaming X 1080 ti that you sold, then you bought 2x Asus Strix ROG OC 1080 ti, and then you sold the 2x Asus Strix ROG OC 1080 ti and then bought two more Gaming X 1080 ti's? What did you not like about the Strix 1080 ti that made you go back to the MSI Gaming X?

How are your two Gaming X GPU temps under a heavy gaming load? Whenever I see two non-Founders-Edition non-water-cooled 1080 Ti GPUs separated by just two slots in between, instead of three slots in between, the top GPU often runs a lot hotter and throttles compared to the bottom GPU since the top GPU's fan cannot get good airflow with both GPUs closely spaced like that

Sick build man, i'm pricing mine up now, very similar except i've got marked for the ROG Strix OC edition

Did you hit thermal limit on the Titans and thats why you came back to TI's??? i've been curious on this as my original build was going to be Pascal Titans SLI but have found so many thermal issues even liquid cooled.

When you say selling, how long will that take :P might be able to save myself some effort

and lastly, how'd the water cooling go? i was looking at a custom look from EKWB as i like what they do and how they do things.
