I mostly play competitive FPS games like CSGO and PUBG, and decided to put together a build that would improve the experience. Coming from a budget system, with a G3258 and GTX 750Ti, the build I completed has been a massive improvement, so far. I picked all components up on or around Black Friday, and was lucky enough to get a pretty sizable discount on nearly every part. I also included the Ebates cash back in the total cost as a discount on CPU(~$50 back). The CPU/MOBO was a combo from Newegg that was $229 before the Ebates cash back.
All components have cooperated well, and I'm getting a stable 110-130fps in PUBG -- even better than I was hoping!
My one gripe was with the case fans and fan controller in the Rosewill STEALTH case. The case itself is awesome -- easy to build in, comes with four case fans pre-installed, lots of space and good air flow. However, the only time I've tried to use the case fan controllers using the switch on the top of the case the wire overheated almost immediately, and melted the case fan controller wire. Several other case fan wires melted as well, as collateral damage. I did contact customer support, and they did their best to help work it out. They sent me a few replacement case fans (the blue ones), and even sent along another top portion of the case to substitute in for the melted wires and other components.
All in all, I'm very happy with how the build went. The only recommendation I have for anyone using these components is to not use the case fan controller, unless you really know what you're doing!
Awesome processor. It's quad-core, and thus a bit dated now, but single core performance is stellar, and it cooperates with my MOBO extremely well.
Looks great, fairly easy to install, and keeps my hot CPU cool. Does an excellent job at a budget price.
Fantastic MOBO! I love the point-and-click BIOS interface, and overclocking features already included. It looks great, and its got a lot of useful features.
Speedy and stable. Easy to clock it properly with the MOBO XMP profiles.
Fantastic, easy to use.
Really great performance from this card! Dual fans keep it cool under load, and I've had no trouble whatsoever.
Awesome case, just be careful using the case fan controller. It seems to be prone it overheating and melting, which can cause a lot of trouble.
Fantastic so far!
Soft dark blue, seems to keep things cool. The blades are pretty wide-set, so I'm not sure how much air they're really pushing.
