Description

This system was built for my son 6 months ago or so. We already had the main components, but when I finished my S8S he really liked the green coolant and he asked if we could do yellow in his. So, here we are. There is a GTX 760 in there now and an overclocked G3258. It runs anything he plays (World of Tanks) just fine at 1080p. I seriously considered getting a GTX 970, but didn't see the point now. So, I bought the EK block for the EVGA ACX version 970's, which fits this GTX 760. I'll pick up a GTX 970 down the road and throw it in there to replace the GTX 760. It seemed like the most logical thing to do. Anyways, a pretty simple build, that runs very quietly! I hope you all enjoy.

Ok. ok. ok

So, since some of don't like my Pentium G3258 choice, I must remind you that I had this CPU already. Why should I upgrade it. It's clocked to 4.5GHz and runs WOT just fine. All he does is surf the internet, us MS Office and play WOT. I'm not sure why everybody thinks this is a "waste of money". All I have to do if throw a 4690k in there later if I want. Nothing else needs to change. But again, why would I do that if this runs everything just fine? The cost of water cooling is the cost of water cooling. :)

I simply cannot stand your builds. They are too dang pretty and I am often speechless...

Spycrab 10 points 26 months ago

Umm I'm gonna send you my bill for jaw surgery......

this is really amazing +1

Thank you all for the kind words!

AION-MC EKWB 18 Builds 6 points 26 months ago

You and your case labs builds! Look amazing man grats on featured!

Only thing I would've done different is the gpu backplate... it would've looked so clean

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

I agree. The 970 EK backplate doesn't fit unfortunately. Since I'm upgrading to a 970 later, I didn't want to modify my current 760 backplate. But yes, I would have liked to get one.

TechyinAZ 14 Builds 5 points 26 months ago

Looks cool! Kinda funny seeing it on a g3258, but it's neat nonetheless.

rhali8 2 Builds 3 points 26 months ago

I love this build, it is well rounded, powerful and looks awesome! I love the Pentium, it is a powerful chip that once overclocked, makes those i5's and i7's wet their pants :D

Such a nice build, +1 for a G3258

Just wondering, how is that GPU?

xDiiThy 3 Builds 0 points 26 months ago

Think of it a bit less capable then the GTX 960 :) About 5-12 FPS

SniperXreborN 3 points 26 months ago

Could you somehow make a tutorial of how you bend tubes? Seriously these bends look awesome!

Kevo05s 6 Builds 3 points 26 months ago

+1 for the color, +1 for the case, +1 for the custom loop, +1 for the mini itx, +1 for my jealousy love it, giving me more hopes of soon having a mini itx build too....

pjgmorgan 1 Build 3 points 26 months ago

Incredibly fit system

SpikzeMC 3 points 26 months ago

Saw this on Instagram first! WOOP! Haha. NIIIICE!

Anyone else think of Jayztwocents or Skunkworks?

Spycrab 1 point 26 months ago

You know it :)

RageGameing 1 point 26 months ago

+1 for the JTS Ref

SpikzeMC 0 points 26 months ago

Just another thought... high-end watercooling on low-end parts? WTH?

A_shady_person 3 points 26 months ago

Man, don't let the G3258 haters get to you. I bought a G3258 to pair with my GTX 960 when I did my system build and I have nothing bad to say about it. I would honestly argue that it's probably the best dual core CPU you can currently buy. Especially for around 60 bucks. It is basically half of a 4690k. I now have a 4690k and even overclocked, it scores roughly twice as much as the G3258 which means they have basically the same cores. It's a fantastic little CPU and I would recommend it to anyone.

Stuart_Munto 3 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

Loving this build - just goes to prove that not every build needs a i7 overclocked to the balls and a 3-way sli 980ti to be considered a masterpiece - this is amazingly amazing!

Apollo5C 2 points 26 months ago

Now this is what I call beautiful. +1

Vergere 7 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Very Bright build! would love to see some yellow case fans, but very cool.

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

I almost did that actually, but I already had these laying around. :)

avianagenda 1 point 26 months ago

beautiful

Battlefield 1 point 26 months ago

This is purely all about the looks. I shouldn't have read the parts list. It pains me, but to each their own.

Stuart_Munto 3 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

Its not always about performance - this is all about the passion of the build (say the word 'passion' with an Italian accent and it will make sense)

Phantasion 1 point 26 months ago

3 words: very ****** nice

gazereths 8 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Looks stunning. Have you been able to get any higher on the CPU overclock? I got mine to 4.4 on the stock cooler, thought with this totally overkill loop you'd be up near 5 or have you hit the chips limit? Does Seem a little like cracking a walnut with a sledgehammer, but hey custom loops have never been about cost effective cooling, just coolness :)

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Thanks! I've been to 4.8 with an air cooler. I haven't cranked it up anymore. I will play around with it when I get some free time here. My 4790k goes to 5.1, so this should. Lol

piemancoder 1 point 26 months ago

4790k at 5.1? That is awesome.

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Yes, only for benchmarks though

mandarinrock 1 point 26 months ago

love your build was gonna make mine with the exact same watercooling. is ek a good choice for custom? thanks

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Hi, yes I prefer EK. They have great customer service and all they make just about any part you will need so it will all match.

Calqalator 1 point 26 months ago

This build is.........SO BEUTIFUL

Jake762by39 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Looked at the pics first and expected a 4790K and a Titan. You pleasantly surprised me. Well done.

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Thank you!

majoraubouer 1 point 26 months ago

where did you get your custom wire like sata cable is it custom sleeve ?

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

Hi. I make my own. I make the cables and sleeve everything myself.

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

If you would like, I can make you some. Send me an email at silentgamingpcs@gmail.com

majoraubouer 2 points 26 months ago

ok thanks but i think i have found a interesting website for that http://www.ensourced.net/

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Yep. I know the guy there. He does nice work.

majoraubouer 1 point 26 months ago

ok thanks about the tips and can you give me some advice about what i want to buy if its okay

majoraubouer 1 point 26 months ago

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/FC74f7 there waht i think to buy for 4k gaming overclock

HLGFrenchToast 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

After seeing this build, you have inspired me to strongly consider the S3 for my next build. The only problem is I want it in white and I don't know where to find it since it's not on their site. Amazing build BTW, absolutely beautiful.

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Thanks! Give CaseLabs some time. I'm sure they will offer it again. They were so back logged that they had to stop the colored options. They will resume them, but probably not for several months. Keep checking their twitter page. I'm sure they will post news when they are going to resume manufacturing those colors.

Bloodkiller117 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

well you could always give it a make over and spray paint it

HLGFrenchToast 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

Spray painting a CaseLabs case is like a sin lol. I found it on FrozenCPU with a bunch of customizable options. $20 extra for white :)

Kimchi 1 point 26 months ago

Teach me how to watercool :0

EqualsGamersPlus 1 point 26 months ago

Duuuude, this is awesome.

resvez 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

This guys builds are always stunning! One I build my WC table ill take you on :D

Qbuo 1 point 26 months ago

Absolutely beautiful build, upgradeable components, nice

ThePickleCat 1 Build 1 point 26 months ago

you can be my sugar daddy

snorkel12068 3 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Nice, Did you do the PSU sleeving yourself?

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Thanks. Yes, I did.

snorkel12068 3 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

I have been looking to get into the sleeving, but I am having a hard time finding a good source of the female ATX pins to shorten my cables. I found a good crimper, just need to find the pins. Do you happen to know a good source for those?

xHynix 1 point 26 months ago

what is WOT?

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 2 points 26 months ago

World of Tanks

xHynix 1 point 26 months ago

Oh i love that game, i play on the NA server username is xHynixX

snorkel12068 3 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Did you use paracord for the sleeving?

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

For this one I used Teleios, my other builds I used paracord. I actually think I prefer paracord. It doesn't feel like cheap plastic. I like them both, but prefer paracord.

bmccarthy8989 8 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

You really are a talented builder. I would love to get my hands on a caseLabs. They seem to take the majority of competition wins. All around well done, couldn't even find one thing wrong with it. +1

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Thank you!

bmccarthy8989 8 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

What type of fittings are those? Compression? EK or Bitspower?

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Primochill compression.

Superlag 4 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Excellent looking system. Also loving the G3258 CPU choice especially with such a great overclock on it. Those temps! Overall awesome.

Bradly_Dam 1 point 25 months ago

what is that in the first picture?? and amazing build.. I might make mine like this

blazend 1 point 25 months ago

+1 and i would call it bumblebee if i was you :)

kiyoshi3 0 points 26 months ago

yea the 760 is bit under powered for watercooling, ascetically though its still pretty cool. also you may want to upgrade that dual core sometime soon just for the multitasking potential

HTTPRO 3 Builds 0 points 26 months ago

I would upgrade the CPU first because based off experience I had so much hard stutters when I played CPU intensive games or very populated games. Games like Guild Wars 2, Rust, Planetside 2, and Battlefield 4 are the games I had hard stutters.

RageGameing 1 point 26 months ago

its for his son, who only plays WOT. plus its OCd .

Growliff1234 0 points 26 months ago

What is this overclocked to ?!

Spycrab 1 point 26 months ago

He said 4.5 ghz :)

Why? I already had this CPU. With this clocked at 4.5GHz it runs them just fine. Not all games use 4 cores and this @ 4.5 in a WOT is just as fast as my 4790k @ 4.5. :o

CodCraftTech 0 points 26 months ago

Dayum that looks noicee. Surprised to see the dual core though :o

piemancoder 0 points 26 months ago

I use my +1s sparingly, but you definitely earned 5 of them.

HLGFrenchToast 1 Build 0 points 26 months ago

Sorry for making another comment but, wow those temperatures are low! Is it really possible that I could get similar temperatures with similar water cooling parts and an i5 4460 plus a 970? I've really been inspired to do a full loop for my second build and think I'm up for the challenge but I would love some input from people who build systems like this. Thanks!

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Yes, it is possible. You have to remember though the G3258 only has 2 cores, so half the heat already. This runs cooler than my 4790k. It's also the chip, but yes you can achieve very good temperatures water cooling. There are several factors involved though like the pump, fans, ambient temperature, size of the reservoir, etc.

Intercept007 0 points 26 months ago

World of Tanks hype!

Bloodkiller117 1 Build 0 points 26 months ago

bro i love that PC its just astounding its great bu the processer makes meh wanna vomit but its so sexy lmbo and tell him to add me on world of tanks im 16 so yay fun for us kids my screen name is EMINEM2541 im in a clan called 50cal.

Anyone -1 points 26 months ago

A Pentium... And a 760... In this...

It looks incredible and all, but is kind of a complete waste with these components.

theelitechicken -1 points 26 months ago

looks pretty cool but that dual core probably doesn't need to be water cooled.

philphaser 12 Builds -2 points 26 months ago

1000 bucks to watercool a dual core Pentium and a GTX 760? °_o
This is the PC equivalent of the blonde bimbo cliche: looking sexy, lacking inner values.
Anyways (or because): +1 for the beautiful full loop.

philphaser 12 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Exactly!

Corbindalllas -5 points 26 months ago

WTF! $1000 on a pentium really?

ajpinton 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

This is just the cost for the cooling bits, all of the PC parts have a cost of $0.00. Custom loop water cooling is very pricy.

Corbindalllas -6 points 26 months ago

Upgrade to a i5 or an i7 processor

ajpinton 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

If it works for the son what difference does it make? Most computers now are overkill for what is needed anyway.

JLMCS2012 submitter 6 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

Why? I already had this CPU. With this clocked at 4.5GHz it runs them just fine. Not all games use 4 cores and this @ 4.5 in a WOT is just as fast as my 4790k @ 4.5. :o http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/

RageGameing 1 point 26 months ago

I can livestream on a pc with an old pentium and a GT 730, A G3258 should be plenty, even with it OCd to 4.5

TechyinAZ 14 Builds 3 points 26 months ago

He already had the main components. Plus, liquid cooling with custom parts is VERY expensive.

[comment deleted]
plgdg 1 Build 2 points 26 months ago

That's the Pentium anniversary chip. It's actually really sweet for overclocking.

MTOG 1 point 26 months ago

Yea but its tdp is only 53w, you can get a pretty decent overclock on the reference cooler that it comes with so water cooling is kind of useless

ajpinton 11 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

This is just the cost of the cooling bits, note the PC parts have a $0.00 cost.

snorkel12068 3 Builds 1 point 26 months ago

The nice thing about the pentium is you can easily upgrade it at a later date to the best I7.
