Description

Quality rig right here lads if I say so meself, not finished yet, but quality. This started after I got right twisted with my molasses slow amd a8 apu with a boot hard drive to match, the apu couldn't hit 60 fps in Skyrim at low 1600x900, and I got real chaffed at the 3 minute boot times with the hard drive. BUT NOW, I can do whatever I wish in an excellent amount of time, I get an astonishing amount of fps in whatever games I play, 79 average in Assassin's creed Odyssey on very high settings at 1080p, well over 60 with an ungodly amount of graphics mods and enbs on Skyrim, it is just peachy, the 8 second boot times are also VERY VERY VERY NICE. I've oc'd the gpu to 217 on the core and 500 on the memory, definitely helped fps, I also kept the cpu at 3.4 with the stock cooler until I upgrade to something more... THICC shall we say.

Now this build wasn't good and flawless now, I paid $280 for the same card I have here but from ebay (don't buy gpus from ebay just a tip) and the display outs failed to work, tried literally everything on the internet to fix, but it was done for, methinks it was either that the card flat out got struck my lightning or the card has a dead bios (unlikely) but I don't care anymore, just bitter

Part Reviews

CPU

Hats off to AMD for this cpu man, so much performance from so little cost. I guess they needed to redeem themselves after the FX line so they made this wonderful cpu

Motherboard

Great board, great bios, great aesthetic. edit: after overclocking this chip to the max this board is still completely stable, truly an excellent product

Video Card

Massive chonker card with massive chonker potential

Case

Looks wonderful, great construction, very few gripes about it until you have to cable manage. The cable management space is just bad tho, they coulda made it 1 inch deeper and made it so much better, probably easier if you have custom flat cables or such but just be forewarned if you plan on buying this

Hi,

How is the motherboard performance/reliability so far? would you recommend it?

Hasn't failed me yet, I've gotten a stable max oc with the 2600 (although I keep it at 4 rather than 4.2 for temps and the likes), vrm temps are well under control, and it's pretty durable. I'll keep it until the point when I need to get a better vrm for a higher core count cpu, but I'm not seeing any bottlenecking with the cpu yet so that's not something I plan on doing.

Its compatible with the 3rd gen ryzen processors, have you considered upgrading?

with my current config no, but I'm gonna upgrade at some point, so the board should be fine with an 8 core whenever I get to a gpu bottleneck

Does the motherboard have a built-in wifi adapter or will I have to buy one in order to use wifi?

  • 1 point

Nah this motherboard sadly doesn't have wifi, but for 120$ I don't think many boards have any wifi

Why shouldn't I buy a video card from eBay?

  • 1 point

I was wondering that myself. I bought my 980ti from ebay lol.

I bought my 1080 Ti from eBay. It was used for mining. Buying used always has its risks. But if you do the research, chances are buying a used card by a gamer is going to be less reliable than one used for mining actually. And I sold my previous 1080, which was used for gaming, but only for 6 months, basically like new if you ask me.

idk, i just got unlucky as all get out

That’s the risk. Can happen to anyone. Most eBay listings for video cards don’t offer a refund from what I’ve seen, double the risk. Worst I’ve had so far is just the wrong item sent.

i's say buying something low risk like ram or a case would be fine, but in the future i'm gonna remember not to fool with gpus

The title shouldn't be a name for a PC build, it should be a presidential campaign slogan.
