Description

Did some minor changes to my Coconut Lime 2.1.

Exchanged the Noctua Redux for some BeQuiet Silent Wings 2 and the Nanoxia FX Evos for Corsair AF Quiet LEDs. The 2nd stock fan of the Corsair H75 got replaced with a Blacknoise Noiseblocker NB-eLoop B12-P. Last but not least i got some white sleeved PCIe extensions and re-did the cable mgmt.

The only one of the items i bought used for version 2.1 to turn out defective was the Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB, so i bought a Seagate Barracuda 2TB.

Next up: a 2nd GTX 980 and an i7-4790k. This'll take some time though...

Nice touch painting the SLI caps. And Typo in description 4790K is the i7. Every time I see this build you always have that beauty mix that makes a green build pop. +1

Absolutely love the color scheme, and the fact that your GTX 980 resembles NVIDIA's Quadro line.

Thx! In fact my GTX 980 also resemble Meithen's GTX 980s from his Spectre Build. But i swear i didn't even think about that when planning mine. I realised when i took another look at the highest rated builds the other day... : )

Very nice. I like the card reader. I wish I could get one in my chassis. Ever think of doing a 240 rad on the top instead of the 120 in the back. You have the room for it, and it would give a little more cooling ability.

I saw that build as well.

I would still hand you the featured spot though.

In my opinion, your build is much cleaner, and I can really see the time you put into planning with all the modding, cable management, and part selection.

Both you and confuzledandlost did excellent jobs.

I will be posting an update for that build shortly.

I have added a second 970 MSI Golden Edition, a second Samsung 850 EVO, a second Seagate Barracuda, and 8 more gigs of RAM.

Currently only waiting for the sleeved cables for the second GPU, then I will post it.

This is so tight, I just finished a similar build with that same case (this one totally puts mine to shame). I love that case so much, it's so easy to build in and it looks so classy. I'm also insanely jealous now of your workspace.

im looking for 120mm and 140mm sp fans that are also quiet. can you recommend me any?

Amazing build! i personally love the color u used and think its look phenomenal. Cant wait for the upgrade when it does happen xD

also for the rad, i think they should be the same fan because one might push more or less air and the airflow becomes uneven. Not hundred percent sure tho

  • 1 point

Luckily it's not like that, as far is i can tell; my CPU temps are lower than ever!
For what use do you need your fans? The most quiet fans i know are BeQuiet Silent Wings 2, but they're not suitable for use on radiators. For that Noiseblocker eLoop and EK Vardar are best.

  • 1 point

I have an h440 and a r9 290x (big mistake on my part woops) the case is really restrictive so the intakes are always choked. static pressure fans for the intakes (120mm x 3) and I have a nzxt x61 cooler at the top (140mm x 2) i need the static pressure fans coz its a rad and at the back. High airflow fan (140mm x 1) meanwhile all silent are almost silent. Any ideas? And did noctua fans die down or something? it seemed like everyone either recommends corsair or noctua fans xD

  • 1 point

I got the Noctuas since i needed every help with airflow in the Corsair 100R case, which isn't the case (pun intended) with the 450D, so i put more value on silence for that version of my build. The 2 x 140mm BeQuiet Silent Wings 2 do a perfect job as intakes in that particular case. If you need high static pressure for your radiators you should choose Noiseblocker NB-eLoop B12-PS (1500RPM) / Noiseblocker NB-eLoop B12-P (2000RPM) or if that doesn't suffice EK Vardar F4 (2200RPM) / EK Vardar FF5 (3000RPM). You can't get more static pressure with less noise. For silent high airflow i recommend Aerocool Dead Silent.

  • 1 point

thanks! :DD with those standard rpm, is it gonna be really loud though?

  • 1 point

Depends on your case and othe components, but i'll say, go get the NB-eLoop B12-PS and you'll be good.

This build is awesome!! How long did it take you to build this BEAST? And did you color the graphics card, Power Supple and the Liquid cooler green yourself, or did you buy it like that? I want to build one kind of similar to this except in red!

  • 2 points

I did all the custom coloring myself. Can't say how long it took me to finish everything...by the version number you can tell, this came a long way. ; )
If you wanna do a red build there's almost not need for custom coloring, you just have to choose the right parts. For example, go with a MSI Gaming mobo, a MSI Twin Frozr GPU and a Corsair H105.

  • 1 point

Lol! those are just about the parts I am planning on using for my pc! Here is the link to my parts list: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/gpillai/saved/2pxqqs

I haven't bought all the parts yet but I plan on buying it soon and probably build it during the summer, when I am free from school and my job.

  • 2 points

Haha...nice! : )
I'd change that H55 for a H75, which you'll probably get for pretty much the same price, and please, please, please, get at least a PSU from the CS-series or even better XFX XTR, EVGA B2 or Seasonice M12/S12! Here's a PSU tier list; for that kind of hardware, don't get anything under tier 2: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html

How did you paint the graphics card? Did you need to take it apart? I am thinking about painting my ram myself. I would like to add some consistent color in my rig.

Looks great. Went into the build wormhole going through your updates.

How much did the entire thing cost because some of your parts don't have prices on them

  • 1 point

I seriously can't anymore. Prices in the list are all pcpp provided, i just didn't change them. Case, PSU, GPU, Harddrives and a lot of the fans i bought used over quite some time and i can't even recall all prices. I can tell you that i got everything for cheap (otherwise i couldn't have afford it) and paid pretty much half of original price for the entire build (the update from 1.1 to 2.2 that is, therefore not measuring in prices for mobo, AIO cooler and RAM, which i bought new for the 1.1. The CPU i even got way before that).

Because it's a great professional true color screen for graphic designers, maybe?! Anyways it's not the price i paid since i got a second hand bargain.
