Description

So i've always wanted to build a pc I just didn't think it would take me so long to finally get to it. Microcenter had a great sale and one day I just said screw it and drove 30 miles to their store and picked up a Ryzen 5 1600 that was on sale as well as a Asrock pro4 b450 motherboard, I decided on the Phanteks p400s Tempered glass in white. Since i'm not a gamer by any means I knew I wasn't going to go all out however I did want it to be able to run games in case I ever felt like trying one or if one of my kids decided Dad's Computer is better than their repurposed Dell Optiplex's with their 750ti's. I initially just threw in a EVGA Gt 730 I picked up on sale from their website, however that had to go since it was so noisy and I could'nt really get it to quiet down. For the boot drive I chose a Kingston a400 240g M.2 drive, as a secondary drive i'm using a repurposed 1 tb Western Digital Blue 7200 rpm, as far as ram I went with Adata Xpg z1 Ddr4 3000mhz, the powersupply I chose was a Seasonic m12 2 520 80 plus Bronze, as far as the GPU its a Blk+White MSI Radeon Armor Rx 580 8gb oc edition (updated to this since original build). I also installed 3 120mm uphere White led fans. And just because it matched and i knew my kids would love it I threw in a Skull Trooper Funko pop secured using hot glue. Currently i'm running the stock cooler on my cpu however in the future I will be upgrading, i'm not sure if I will throw in an AIO, that's a possibility.

I am currently messing around with overclocking, after many different try's i've found that its running the best at 3.8 at around 1.25 volts. At 3.9 the Temp was skyrocketing to 89c and even after messing around with the voltage I couldn't find a sweet spot and it kept crashing while running Cinebench. Once I change the stock cooler I will try upping it again. Overall I'm happy with the way it turned out and putting it together was a lot easier than I thought, I did make a total rookie mistake and completely forgot that the r5 1600 doesn't have any on board graphics lol so lets just say I figured it out. Thanks for checking out my build regards to all.

Ryzen 5 1600 $79.99 (Microcenter) Asrock b450 pro 4 $49.99 (Microcenter) Adata Xpg z1 Ddr4 3000 $69.99 (Amazon) Phanteks p400s Tempered Glass $65.99 (Newegg) Kingston a400 240g M.2 $30.67 (Amazon) uphere 3 pack White led 120mm fans $17.99 (Amazon) Seasonic m12 2 520 80 plus Bronze Full Modular $54.99-$20 MiR= $34.99 (Newegg) Gigabyte Rx 560 4gb rev 2 $50.00 (Facebook Marketplace)

gotta love those prices at good ol' micro center. I got a pretty similar build, but a strix board and a 1070. Same case, cpu, and similar ram and psus.

With these prices I'd build one aswell, and I already have an r5 1600 based pc. Nice work there.
