Description

Hey everyone,

Well I retired my modern tetris build and decided I wanted to give a water loop a try & my story:

It all began when I purchased the EK Fluid gaming A240 Kit and slapped that on my 8700k, I was at the time running a 1080 TI Kingpin vertically which worked out well and I did not plan on changing things around until someone I know told me that they had a titan xp galactic edition gpu that they decided they did not want to use in the end (another story). I decided to sell one of my kingpins and I purchased the titan xp off them for less than what I sold my kingpin for! Score!

I was running the titan Xp for a while with the stock cooler, unfortunately it just could not cut the mustard and something needed to be done.

I decided to look into purchasing a Ek fluid gaming waterblock and trying to make it all work, as it stood at the time EK says that they could not tell me weather their block would fit the collectors edition or not. So I took the leap of faith and ordered everything.

Long stroy short (kind of) I gathered everything and rebuilt my rig from the ground up. This is the outcome.

** Some notes:

-The coolant looks very very green but I assure you the coolant I ordered and received is EK Cryofuel Lime Yellow but inside of the black dark case it looks vivd green. This was unexpected but I decided to continue with what I had.

-Many have boo'd me on the soft tubing instead of hard tubing, unfortunately the ek-fluid line does not make hard tubing easy to achieve. I am okay with the soft tubing.

-I have a Galactic symbol and everything is green.. why did I not go with the Jedi logo. This is because the titan xp collectors edition is indeed a galactic model and I wanted to keep it as true as possible. Maybe I will change it up down the road.

-People have asked why I would purchase a titan xp collectors just to rip the shroud off of it, this is because at the time there were none of either normal titan xp or collectors for sale anymore. Also because the deal I got on it locally, I was not going to pass it up.

-The pictures with the blue thing cut in shape, this is something I came up with to cover the hole where the cables are from the psu etc. I wanted it to be clean all the way through.

-I designed the vinyl logo that covers the Cougar branding myself and used my vinyl machine to cut it.

I will add to this if I think of more things :)

Hope you like it, but its okay if you do not.

I don't know anyone who's wife would let them do this... Have you considered doing hardline?

+1 beautiful build!

Lol she understands its my thing.. could spend money on booze and drugs instead haha.

I have but the ek fluid line up makes it very hard to do hard line, the reason being is that they do not sell the compression fittings separately that would allow for hard line. They sell them in a kit with their sli connection kit and I would of had to purchase like 7 of these kits to make a hardline work.

It was just so much extra money.

Thank you :)

Yeah the more I look at this the more I love and appreciate it. I have 2 hardline builds and would never consider soft tubing... This build changes that opinion. Probably one of the best soft tube build I've seen!!

Another soft tube build!

Just make sure to get compatible parts if you wish to expand your build in the future. The fluid gaming series is made exclusively out of aluminium parts so make sure to get just aluminium in the future.

Oh definitely, I liked the aluminum idea when I got into it. I'm not the most fond of it now seeing how limited I am..but it does its job well.

Awesome build my friend! It may have been wife approved, but i'm guessing she doesn't know the price tag on it, cause my fiances approves but when she hears the tag she's like "really you just had to go all out?" XD all jokes aside the coolant looks AWESOME.

Fiance(s)? Plural? Lol :P

I told her why I wanted a new build and what money I was using to purchase most of it (My bitcoin) she said shes not sure was wrong with the old one that I just finished not too long ago but she still gave the thumbs up.

I definitely never gave her the prices.. and hope she does not get bored some day to just google any one piece of the build or my gpus haha. I did not think it was necessary to share at the time lol

Haha right! That's nice you had that option. Yeah my phone auto corrected to plural :p it'd be nice to have more than 1 but to much crazy haha.

Jesus this looks amazing and daunting to try to make at the same time. Awesome build and looks so good!

it was very tedious to make, I am so picky on hiding cables and making things look like they should be there. It took me awhile to get it the way I wanted.

Thank you very much.

You got the collectors edition and ripped the front off? Well done good man

Yeah I'm that guy lol. I have had a little bit of flack becuase I took a collector's and removed the led shroud / cooler but the titans run too hot.

I am much happier with the gpu never even breaching 60 degrees. Happy gpu=happy me :)

I have not gone through my whole parts list yet to adjust the prices on what I had paid.

When I sold my 1080 ti kingpin during the mining boom, I sold it for $1450 Cad.

I than turned around and bought the Titan Xp Collectors gpu for $1000 new in box.

I believe all gpus are over priced..but it was a deal in my eyes :) Sold a 1080 ti and purchased a titan xp and had an extra $450 in my pocket. (kind of until I spent it on more pc parts for the build)
