This is my first ever PC build. I haven't come up with a name for it, but I'm thinking about calling it the CL+. The CPU, Motherboard, and GPU were all purchased off Craigslist. All the other components are new.
CPU: I really wanted to have a quad core CPU for this system. I will being doing some video editing and other content creation as well as gaming. The CPU came as part of a used computer the I got for $200.00.
CPU Cooler: The Cooler Master Hyper TX3 was my choice here because it was cheap, had good reviews, and is mostly silent (especially when compared to the stock cooler). I didn't need anything crazy because the CPU is locked and I wont be overclocking.
Motherboard: This board came with the CPU and it works. Its not the nicest looking thing but it has all the features that I wanted (4 memory slots, SATA 3, USB 3.0 connector, and PCIe 16x).
RAM: I upgraded the 8GBs that the computer originally came with to 16 GBs.
Storage: The computer came with a 1 TB Seagate drive. After using it for a while I decided that I really wanted the speed of an SSD. I couldn't be happier with the switch.
GPU: I found this EVGA GTX 670 FTW card on Craigslist for $100.00. Its and awesome card for the games that I play (mostly older games) but it performs great for newer titles as well.
Case and Fans: The case that the old computer came with was terrible. I chose the N200 because its a great case for the money and has really good air flow. I upgraded the stock fans to Artic F12's. The fans have really good air flow, but aren't as quite as I'd hoped.
PSU: I had to upgrade the 350W power supply for the graphics card. I really like this supply as it has all black cables, but for some reason they decided to make the PCI plugs red.. really don't get it.
The monitor is an AOC 27" 1080p monitor. I chose it because it has 2 HDMI ports and it was on sale.
The keyboard and mouse are from GSkill. I really like both of them, although I wish I would have opted for the RGB version of the keyboard.
