Description

Here's my latest build, with a case swap! Courtesy of Corsair James and a huge thank you to him and Corsair George!

As y'all can see, all visible cables are fully sleeved. The only one I didn't sleeve was the power to the front panel connector which powers the fan controller. I made sure that cable wasn't visible. ;)

I am also a zip tie freak. I overuse the hell out of them. So, I decided to go a different route and try securing cables with paracord instead. I'd like to say it came out fantastically, but I'm not sure yet. It's still a heck of a lot better than throwing zip ties everywhere. It's quite a bit more gentle on my sleeving, that's for sure.

If y'all have any questions, please let me know! I hope you enjoy this album. The cables took such a long time to do!

Also, it appears PCPP placed the pictures out of order. If you guys would like to see full sized versions, head on over to my imgur album!

Jedwondle 7 points 46 months ago

I've learned more about cable management from the pics on this build than from any other build/tutorial out there! Its immaculate! Thank you for all the pics!

Retroman 18 points 50 months ago

Fantastic Build! Cable management is outstanding and I love the color scheme! You're going to create a lot of Nerdgasms with this build on here :P Great job, easiest +1 in a long time :D

AintScurr 13 points 50 months ago

This is actually the best build on this Site that I have ever seen! +1

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Aw man, that means a lot! Thanks!

zlogs 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

Same here, ive been on here and seen some really powerful builds but this one is just beautiful. The color scheme is so nice, even down to the ssd's interweaving between evo and pro. Nice build, 10/10 will always be jealous.

tabascosauz 3 Builds 7 points 50 months ago

I'm not exaggerating, and this is of no offence to the other watercooled/nicely sleeved builds on this site but

This is the best build I've seen so far. Congratulations. You are extremely lucky to have had someone do such an amazing sleeving job for you. I also really like the idea of using paracord instead of zipties; I am horrible with zipties and cannot use them properly so this is something i must try.

Oh, and are you going to use the OC panel for the R4BE?

If only I could afford a wall of 840 SSDs like you can...

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

I actually did this sleeving. I was just throwing a plug for my own site. ;)

As for the OC Panel, I'll install it eventually.

Also, thanks for the comments! Greatly appreciated.

tabascosauz 3 Builds 2 points 50 months ago

Nice! All the more reason to praise your work.

$199 is a bit on the expensive side methinks, but the sleeving does look quite good? Is it paracord?

I'm planning on doing paracord sometime this summer or end of year.

sirjopalot 7 points 50 months ago

such case, much water cooled, so wire management, many graphics cards, wow.

Zheknov 6 points 50 months ago

This is absolutely the best overall build I have seen on this site. And we're talking about over 500 builds that I have looked at. I give mad props to you for this build. As I genuinely think this is one-of-a-kind and completely stunning. +1

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Whoa, thanks a lot! I'm glad you can appreciate the time and effort that I poured into this build. From now on, I am no longer a zip tie guy!

vikingXcore 4 Builds 5 points 50 months ago

OMG that cable management. It's even better behind the motherboard than alot of peoples' builds are on the inside! And how many infants were slain in the making of that case? Atleast, I don't know, 47? That glass is... aaaand I need to change my pants.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

spongebob123 3 points 50 months ago

what RAID are the SSD's in?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

The SSDs aren't in RAID. Just standalone drives. :)

BlastXin 1 point 50 months ago

I wonder why? 4 SSDs would be just good for RAID 10.

Zakillur321 1 point 50 months ago

I would put them in RAID 0...

CaptainPhancyPants 1 point 46 months ago

That could be catastrophic if one failed, 4 separate drives isn't ideal, but it's a hell of a lot safer.

winstonofwar 1 Build 3 points 50 months ago

holy cable management! this build is amazing! with that kind of cable management the back door might as well be clear acrylic as well.

panteparak 3 points 50 months ago

jacobs4525 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

Loving those sleeved cables. Also, you did AMAZING on the cable management, and I love the black and white color scheme. A definite +1 from me.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Hey, thanks! The sleeved cables took the longest out of this whole project.

jacobs4525 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

Well by the way they look they are definitely worth it. Once again, great job!

[comment deleted]
Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

I sleeved these cables myself and I was just plugging my website. :)

[comment deleted]
Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

It's more time consuming. As long as I've been sleeving, I've learned all this ins and outs of it and can ensure that I make perfect sleeves. Even so, people think sleeving cables is so easy, but there's so many things to do, including soldering and making sure that your pin-out is correct. One mistake and you can fry your PSU or one of the your components.

Adamantame 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

The build is really beautiful! I hate how you can see the PSU though.

LokStock 2 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

o my gewd, the sexyness of this build, props to you, sir!

skylerman5610 3 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

with creativity comes money

Akut 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

All that money and no custom loop? Still really, really nice.

What, exactly, do you need all this horsepower for?

+1 for this beastly build.

Snoopdify 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

What will you be using this beast for? Still can't play watchdogs on ultra. Haha

mattias1172 4 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

actually this build most likely can. A 780 is powerful enough to so a 780 ti most certainly can.

Snoopdify 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

On ultra, watchdogs uses around 3.5 gb which is over your 780 ti's and even with a card that has enough vram you experience immense stuttering on ultra including an r9 295x2. Maybe in future patches or driver updates it will be fixed. You will be able to run it 60+ fps on ultra but the stuttering will kill you.

mattias1172 4 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Then explain me how i play it on a 780 on ultra setting with no lag and stuttering? Sometimes real world application doesn't work according to whats on paper.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

I get a poop ton of visual lag and stuttering. It's an issue with SLI. You're fine on ULTRA on a single card. This also happens to me when I disable SLI, but it's a hassle to do that everytime I want to fire up W_D.

mattias1172 4 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Makes sense. My personal rig is a crossfired 280x and it can barley handle high settings when crossfired. However on a rig I built for a friend with an Asus 780, it runs watchdogs lag free on ultra.

Snoopdify 1 Build 0 points 50 months ago

Haha ok

CarterBond 1 point 50 months ago

Your cables are kinda pricey. UPC makes cable sets for $140. Just could have saved some money. Just a thought.

mattias1172 4 Builds 2 points 50 months ago

he sleeved them himself, its his own website.

infinitemerald 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

This build's very nice, but I still find it quite suspicious how it gained over 120 upvotes within less than 12 hours. Definitely not saying this build doesn't deserve those upvotes though ;)

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Wasn't really suspicious. There have been quite a few people here and look at all the comments.

Williams0907 1 point 50 months ago

Amazing! Love the SLI 780TIs and they way the SSDs sit.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Thanks! :)

Pr0gR0ck 1 point 50 months ago

Amazing build, I have a question though, is the back mounting plate for the Corsair H105 stock?

asura_ 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

I'd never spend this much money on a computer.

But seeing other people do this is really cool: 1. great black and white colors 2. very clean looking 3. great pictures 4. personal favorite case 5. great components

I wonder what PC world will look like in 10 years

Swish2000 1 point 50 months ago

God dammit Lavins, I thought I had convinced myself I didn't need the 760T, but now I've gotta have it. I set your first picture from the imgur album as my desktop background, it's that great.

Do you have a more detailed explanation of parts/etc anywhere? I'd love to read about it as you're pretty much my building inspiration.

This build is too good. Beautiful work!

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Aw man, that's such an honor. :) Glad to hear that someone appreciates my work enough to make it their desktop background! I'm glad you enjoyed my album and I hope you get one of your own soon! PM me when you have it built. :D

Flobengogen 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

how come u didnt go with all 4 samgsung evos?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

I purchased all of these drives at different times.

JBaker 1 point 50 months ago

Very Nice build, really nice colour scheme, can this run games at 4K?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Thanks! 4k? Of course! I guess you could say, it's... 4K READY!

Daniel0913 -1 points 50 months ago

Why did you want so much overkill? Could you tell me what you plan on using all this power for? Why did you get an extreme processor? Why did you pay $500 on a mobo?! 32GB RAM?,Why?

therfman 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

Really nice sleeving job! I need sleeved cable like that in my build to complement to water loop. I think a custom loop would look awesome in that case too.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Thank you so much! If you're interested in custom sleeving, PM me or send me an email at lavinsleeving@gmail.com! I'll be sure to hook you up! :)

I_Am_Atomix 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

What a gorgeous case, and the whole system is just glorious. Absolutely puts my dream computer to shame. Very nice job and I hope you have fun with this monster! +1

vinurakk 1 Build 1 point 50 months ago

Sick build. Someone needs to make a budget version of this for like less than 2.5K

Thecautiousone 10 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

I wanted to check with you one this one. I Need to know in this case: with a full ATX board can I comfortably have a push/pull config with the h100i sitting above the motherboard? I am super curious

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Yes, it has more than enough clearance to do a push/pull config on the H100i in this case.

Thecautiousone 10 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

And I read in your comments stating that there are problems with an SLI setup?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Huh? Nah, there's no compatibility issues. :) Not even SLI, it's only certain games that have that issue.

Thecautiousone 10 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

I didn't mean in your description about the comments I looked at (it was people's replies, Why do the games have issues? And do you have to dismount a gpu if you want to play that certain game?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 50 months ago

Usually I just deal with it or I disable SLI and the latter option actually works much better.

lightdark64 1 point 50 months ago

Only one thing wrong with this build...the upside-down SSDs lol.

Fennex 1 Build 1 point 49 months ago

What are you using this for, Facebook games? Kappa

VonWar 1 point 49 months ago

Lovely build, quite an attractive aesthetic.

One question that occurred to me was why, with a budget this high, did you go with that model of RAM? The timings/frequency on that particular kit make it Corsair's least Dominator efficient package, as far as I'm aware. Was it just for the reliable nature of a quad channel kit, each stick having been tested along with the others?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 2 points 49 months ago

It wasn't a set budget I had in mind, a lot of the parts here were scavenged from my previous builds. Apart from the CPU, mobo, video cards and the case, was taken from old builds and reused. So you could say that this was a build I did over time. I ended up here. I just got a new case and I'm already working on migrating my current hardware into that.

As for the RAM, I traded in my 4x4GB (16GB) 2133 mhz kit for the 32GB 4x8GB kit. I needed more ram. Speed doesn't matter to me all too much after 1866, as I can OC this ram up to 2133 mhz anyways.

pirat3k 1 point 49 months ago

Very nice build :D

BaSkA 1 point 48 months ago

$5000 on a computer... Isn't spending a little less and upgrading every year more worth it? Oh wait, maybe you got the bucks to do that!

Nice rig.

Also, a PSU cover would be awesome!

Omnislash89 6 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Any particular reason for the mixing of the 840 and 840 EVO?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 2 points 48 months ago

I got them both at different builds and just combined them all together.

CaptainwolfieXD 1 point 48 months ago

andrewfury 1 Build 1 point 48 months ago

Impressive cord management.

1977xc 2 Builds 1 point 48 months ago

Awesome clean build, I just did my first build which is in a 760T... your build was one of a few that made me switch my choice from the 750D.

I think I might have to look into sleeved cables down the track. :)

RyoWantanaby 1 point 47 months ago

How is the 3gb handling that resolution?

zacR 1 Build 1 point 47 months ago

This puts everyone else's cable management is put to shame.

Variable.variables 1 point 46 months ago

How do people get so much money to spend on computers? +1 For the Oreo and the nice part selection.

alnakib80 7 Builds 1 point 46 months ago

I saw your blue lagoon if Im not mistaken and now this. Super choices mate. I have a reasonably clean build too, yours is defintiely cleaner but if you get a chance take a look at mine and please give me an idea of how I can tame my cables and get them to sit nicely. They tend to just want to go their own way. Cheers! And I would have gone raid 0 with 2 drives and used the I the two for seperate storage.

bobbae 1 point 46 months ago

That cable management is actually sexy.

Tooth 1 Build 1 point 45 months ago

You took me through the cables on the inside and I was blown away. I just happened to read an article on this last night in the CPU mag. (maybe you were listed?) Then when you let me view the back side...........O_M_G_! I know it took hours to create your art, I was just glad to see your work. Congrats. I am looking at your other builds while I am at it :)

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 45 months ago

Hahaha thank you! I definitely spent in excess of 30 hours on this build alone. I appreciate your kind words! I'm glad someone is able to appreciate the level of detail I worked hard to put into this. So sad to see it go but I have more ambitious projects in the works. ;)

GermanStarCrafter 2 Builds 1 point 45 months ago

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 44 months ago

Thank you!

BarleyJuice 1 Build 1 point 44 months ago

Great looking build, Really having a hard time deciding between your case and the phantek Enthoo luxe. The only thing holding me back about the 760t, is that you can't leave the cover on top if you want any airflow :( Assuming you leave yours off?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 44 months ago

You can purchase a Demciflex dust filter made for the 760T! They're absolutely fantastic and are some of the best filters ever made!

bQQm 2 Builds 1 point 44 months ago

Where did you get the single sata power cable connectors? Im not sure how to explain it, but the cables that power the ssd, theres only one connector on them? Mine have like 3 or 4

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 44 months ago

I make them myself. If you'd like one, PM me and I'll make one for you.

ellul 1 Build 1 point 44 months ago

very nice man, love where you put the ssd's looks very slick.

unclesalty711 1 point 43 months ago

At first I thought this was the Demo for the Case, but then it wasn't.

Awesome build man, I want this case.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 43 months ago

Haha thanks! Corsair loved it too. I definitely made them proud. :)

JustAnotherGamer 1 point 43 months ago

...And that is why the 760T is my favorite case evar.

JMarimon 1 Build 1 point 43 months ago

Lovely build. Love the black/white braided cables, and the way the SSDs are mounted/displayed look super cool.

logicly 1 point 43 months ago

I really like your build, its so nice and sleek, i really like how you bought different ssd's and interchanged them in a pattern!

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 43 months ago

Thank you! Even though this build has been torn down and parted out, I'm glad people still appreciate it. :)

Dandeman31 1 point 43 months ago

this makes most computers look like crap

EmileBV 1 point 42 months ago

That's a nice idea to use paracord shell for cable management on the back! Also, seeing everything spaced out like this seems very optimal for cooling and airflow since your graphic cards aren't right next to each others like we see in many other builds. Also, the orientation of the SSDs is very smart, I've never seen this case before but it certainly was designed to answer the client's needs. Nice build, once again something that I would like to have if I had this money.

mrishantsharma01 1 point 42 months ago

Your cable management is really impressive.... Hats off bro Nice build xD!!

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 2 points 42 months ago

Thank you! :)

Mitzey234 2 Builds 1 point 42 months ago

Just when I thought I spent too much money on my Build and my rig. I see this. Better start saving.

Limejuice 1 point 41 months ago

I have a question about this build. I'm considering the same build with the same CPU cooler. I'm concerned about the top mounting of the radiator with this case. Do you have the fans exhausting out? Do you also have the top magnetic vent cover in place? I'm worried about dust without it in place, and at the same time, I'm worried about air flow if you do have the top covering the vent holes.

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 41 months ago

Make sure you remove the top cover. If you leave the top cover on, it will overheat your cooler. I know because I did this by accident hahaha. Yes, my H105 was in exhaust because I already had two large 140s as intakes up front.

Trevor123456789 1 point 41 months ago

Hi, I'm new to hackintosh so i would like to know more on this build, firstly are you able to dual boot with windows with this build and secondly is this any good with games such as GTA V or Need for Speed? - Thanks

p.s. Loving the build immensely!

Couldn't you save up some money and buy 1TB hdd with some 120GB ssd ?

Lavins submitter 11 Builds 1 point 23 months ago

I mentioned in another reply that I had brought them over from past builds.

why wouldn't you just get a 1tb ssd instead of 4 250gb ssd's save a little money and maybe upgrade the graphics cards a bit also you wont need a 1200w power supply for that i would say a 500w one would be fine and you would have been able to save that money and upgrade something else

Dat budget...

Very nice build; mine is similar based on a i7-3930. Not to diminish your masterpiece - it is great. But a few items I question. Why are you not OCing the CPU - I've got my 3930 up to 4.6Ghz with ease. Also, with quad SSDs there is very little reason NOT to put them into RAID 10 mode; you get double the R/W and the data redundancy/rebuild like I've done and it does make a difference both in data security and speed. Also, why the AX1200 and not the AX1200i with the controller? And, why only 32GB when that MOB support 64GB? You could use more than half of 64GB RAM as a screaming RAMdisk (I've done that with the same Corsair 1866 Plat sticks - its worth every penny). Another oddity - I see you mixed SSDs - why not all EVOs or pros? I only question these things b/c you've pretty much gone all out like I have - but could have gone the rest of the mile pretty easily.

No, not really. I don't have to do any of that. Going by your thought process, why not go 4960x? Why not go quad Titans? Why not go all 1TB SSDs? Why not go AX1500i?

There's a budget that most people meet. There's also parts pulled from other builds. There was a lot of thought that went into this build, but half of it was used from previous builds. I only picked up the AX1200i a month after I posted this build. It didn't even matter anymore.

At the end of the day, there was a certain budget that I set and I met that budget. Going any higher meets diminishing returns and would've lost money for an extremely marginal increase.

Thank you for the comment though and have a great day.

I doubt SSD's get faster in speed when in a RAID it has been often proven that SSD's in RAID actually move slower than their max rated speeds. If your SSD's showed such a huge difference in speed from their max rated speeds I would like to see those specs. The only reason to even consider a RAID for SSD's is for redundancy. Otherwise you could just save the trouble and simply just back your one SSD to a large HDD and thats all she wrote and it's much less a hassle to simply clone a storage device than to RAID them nowadays.

You can ask any true professional in the field. RAID itself is hardly even considered for back up or redundancy purposes anymore. It's just still widely used in home. The commercial world already moved on as should we. That was years ago from today btw. As for using 64GB of RAM for no reason at all I am sure the OP would love to spend the extra $400+ dollars an extra 32GB of Corsair Dominator Platinum would cost to slap some awesome games on that PC. Especially consider that nothing on earth as far as SOFTWARE or VIDEO GAMES will see any benefit beyond 32GB. That is in speed and in multitasking purposes. After 32GB it better be trying to work with Algorythms and Physics or a huge "RAM" intensive server. Heck in your average work place most servers don't even have more than 24GB.

Another note is perhaps the OP simply wanted to tell apart what SSD's he/she is using for what purposes without having to mark them or label them when the machine is not running and he/she is messing with/tinkering around with other things, if need be. There are such things as a $4K budget btw and a $5K budget. Heck even businesses that drop tens of thousands of dollars on computer equipment for big things have a budget too. Also the OP has a very good point by dimishing returns. No software the OP will EVER buy for the relecance of the generation of DDR3/X79/4gen Intel i7 K series will ever see a performance improvement for the dollar ratio that makes any sense to go beyond 1866MHz CL9 DDR3, 6 core i7 on and X79 platform. After this point the return is literally less than 1% and there are plenty of benchmarks to prove it.

Price to performance wise his build is perfect for it's generation after after serveral years there is no point to increase it's RAM or processing power unless the OP simply considers an entirely new build of compltely new gen parts such as DDR4 and X99. Even then the performance improvement would have to be justified for his/her purpose at that time and moment! Hope this answers everyone's question and trumps the mystery why high end builds like this are quite literally very well planned out logically. Lavins I know this because my build is very similar to yours only I have GTX 670 ($GB VRAM) FTW's. Different brand RAM one large SSD and I plan to clone it to a simple HDD of similar capacity when the time is rigth!

27" 1080P monitors? You can keep those.

I haven't seen those specific monitors yet but I've seen 27" 1080P ones. And they were horrible. I didn't say that for the ***** and giggles buddy, I'm serious. Also, I wasn't offensive and you are now.

I actually have my own file server so anything I need to store is in there. I also do incremental backups so I never really lose anything. I wanted to keep this build as light and as clean as possible.
