With college around the corner, I needed a new way to supplement the income from my job. So I stumbled upon selling PCs.
I started this build by finding a guy selling his i5 3570k & GTX 970 system with a printer and 18" monitor for $200 on craigslist. So I email the guy and throw and offer of $180 and he accepted!
The system wasn't much of a looker when I picked it up, however with a new coat of paint to it, I knew that I would be able to sell it for more than I paid for it.
The first order of business was a new case as the one it came with was old, ugly, and very dirty. I decided on the Thermaltake Core G21, for $53 I was getting a tempered glass side panel and a huge upgrade from what it came with initially.
The next step was the storage and adding to the aesthetics of the build. I used an old 480gb SSD from ADATA & $26 RGB fans from Newegg. Upgrading the storage from a measly 120gb to 480gb was a definite must in 2019.
The last step was increasing my margins by selling the stuff I didn't need, like the i5 3570k as I already had a delidded one lying around my house. I netted $35 from eBay after fees and shipping and I haven't listed the 18" monitor yet, but I know I can get atleast $10 for it.
The final part was finding a buyer, shipping is a hassle, especially when selling desktops as they are heavy and fragile. So I snapped some pictures ( the ones you see above you) and listed on Facebook Market, OfferUP, & Letgo. After some lowballs and people who just stopped replying, I managed to find a buyer for $375 making me a profit of $140.
