Briefcase Titan i7 3770K Portable Build (SnakeBox 2013 Build)

Description

Twitter: @JimmySnakes

I wanted to do a new build for the year, with these new "next gen" consoles being announced. The old excuse of "all my friends play on Xbox, so I play on Xbox" won't be valid anymore, since Xbox One hasn't been released yet ; ) These components are easily down-gradable, meaning you don't have to spend this kind of $$ just to do a similar build, and you'd still have a gaming PC that outperforms....."next gen" consoles lol. Even with an i5, GTX 670 and a single SSD you'd be cutting the price by as much as 75%. My version of this is purely enthusiast built : )

This build is slightly larger than a shoebox and only requires one power cord, that's it. The monitor is wired into the PSU, and the mobo's bluetooth function allows for the integration of a wireless headset as well as the use of the Jawbone Jambox. While I could have also used a wireless mouse and keyboard, this rig will definitely be used for high-end gaming and I love my Razer products lol

The build is currently at 90% completion, with the installation of exterior trim pretty much the only thing left to finish. Stress testing/benchmarking has been great so far, with the Titan complimenting the small form factor of this build with low temps and quiet performance.

Just to give you an idea of the results, I'm getting 120+ Fps on BF3 completely maxed, around 90+ Fps minimum on Metro: Last Light. More updates to follow : )

O_O Speechless.

Caged_Rage [1 Build] 7 points 8 months ago

Well I'm jealous.

GamerDeso [1 Build] 2 points 4 months ago

I'm drooling

GamerDeso [1 Build] 1 point 2 months ago

Uhm... not sure if you meant to reply to me or something. But if you really meant to, I don't get 120 fps on ultra/max/highest settings on the most demanding games.

GamerDeso [1 Build] 1 point 2 months ago

But if a 780 Ti can get 110 FPS average on ultra on Battlefield 3 (not even OCed/turbo boosted... just in its low clock speed mode) then why not a Titan?

[comment deleted by staff]

GamerDeso [1 Build] 1 point 2 months ago

Prolly OCed balls to the walls or something.

TheCanadianGamer16 [1 Build] 1 point 21 days ago

the 780ti is a gaming card, the Titan is a CUDA card that Nvidia decided to put in their gaming line for some stupid reason

GamerDeso [1 Build] 1 point 21 days ago

The Titan has that Double Precision feature which makes it a workstation card at some point. But I believe it still has that raw power to do so.

TheCanadianGamer16 [1 Build] 1 point 20 days ago

the 780ti is cheaper, and in pretty much every gaming scenario beats the Titan

GamerDeso [1 Build] 2 points 20 days ago

Still doesn't stop a Titan from reaching those frames.

TheCanadianGamer16 [1 Build] 1 point 20 days ago

no, but it is pointless as a gaming card, my slowly dying 7970 can hit about 100fps pretty easy

Modification 53 points 16 months ago

it looks like a bomb, I'd like to see you try to go oversea's with that.

Captain.Aviator [1 Build] 14 points 6 months ago

Have the NSA appeared at your door for you typing the word bomb? Or do they only do that to me? I should probably go now, they will be here soon. :D

Graestone45 -2 points 6 months ago

LOL RIGHT?

bgleonarda [1 Build] 38 points 16 months ago

For that price it better beat the next gen consoles.

AppulJeck 9 points 5 months ago

Yeah, like a GTX Titan won't beat a Playstation 4. Makes sense.

boofheadfred 8 points 5 months ago

Oh. I thought that a Commodore 64 was more powerful. Oh well, my judgement was only slightly off.

;)

bode927 [1 Build] 25 points 16 months ago

Props on a very unique build. Do you not think a Titan is a bit overkill for a 1366 x 768 resolution monitor though? coulda saved at least $600 and gotten a card that would still run everything flawlessly at that resolution. +1 on the build nonetheless.

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 22 points 16 months ago

Thank you : )

Yes, even cards in the 500 series could have handled these resolutions, I mainly went with the Titan for three reasons:

-It barely generates heat and unless I'm running something like Metro maxed out, it's super quiet -Titan is optimized for multi-output setups, which is awesome when combined with the WiDi enabled motherboard! (playing on my 55" tv at the same time =D ) -My current main build is 680's SLI, so eventually I will swap one of those into this portable and grab another Titan to go SLI in that main rig

Definitely a good question and I reasoned similarly before finally deciding on this card

Dead-Xilence [1 Build] 23 points 15 months ago

How about PC 1, Xbox 0?

[comment deleted by staff]

domzlol [9 Builds] 12 points 16 months ago

your prob my idol.... that is one legit build ... great work

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 7 points 16 months ago

Thanks man =D

SrgtMacfly [1 Build] 5 points 16 months ago

Where did you happen to get that PCIe angle adapter?

SrgtMacfly [1 Build] 3 points 16 months ago

Thanks!

TheCotsman [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Hey just wondering is their a specific briefcase you would recommend using for someone looking to do this? If so can you give a link?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 6 months ago

This is the next briefcase I purchased and am building an even better system into http://www.ebay.com/itm/111264608156?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 and I've also done another build with this case http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=271390862972

lenoz [2 Builds] 11 points 16 months ago

It says a lot that I can barely even comprehend what I am looking at in each picture - what goes where, how that fits there... it's just crazy. And so inventive. I doth my cap to thee, good sir. Grab your back, and pat it. Hard.

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 16 months ago

Thank you sir! It may look a little funky at first glance, especially with the PCIe right-angle adapter that turns my graphics card on it's side. Every inch inside this case was definitely put to good use : )

wheelerj 10 points 15 months ago

This is some real James Bond ****! All you need to add now is the secret compartment for the tranquilizer darts.

Kirkzilla [1 Build] 8 points 14 months ago

Where can I buy that "case" ;D ohhhh...... My jokes are soooo corny lol

bchurch 2 points 6 months ago

In case of corny jokes overload....

PacificNic [2 Builds] 7 points 16 months ago

So where do you live and where do you leave the keys to your home. If that disappears, it could be annnyyoonnee on the internet. ;D

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 7 points 16 months ago

Don't think I haven't worried about that...I live in the Bronx LOL

domzlol [9 Builds] 6 points 16 months ago

let me know if u sell it on ebay i want to see how much it goes for lol

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 4 points 16 months ago

I have no experience in selling something like this, maybe you guys could help me figure pricing if I decide to go the ebay route. You think someone would buy?

Spirafall [1 Build] 10 points 16 months ago

Are you kidding me? The first question that came to my head was, "How much would you sell this for?" but unfortunately I'm broke so I kept my mouth shut. Lol.

noob_for_life 7 points 16 months ago

you think someone would buy??? Of freaking coarse!!!!! They might think its fake at first.

domzlol [9 Builds] 3 points 16 months ago

I would put in ebay for a reserve of $4,999 USD . soo how many viewers u have and drop it a little every 5 days. if it dont sell or list it as buy it now for unlimited days and just wait for someone to email on it and make you an offer

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 3 points 16 months ago

I'll remember your advice, thank you : )

MrWhiteMacaroon [1 Build] 3 points 15 months ago

if there were power outlets on the mta trains, i would be happy if i see you there.

edman545 [10 Builds] 5 points 16 months ago

About time we get something unique posted. Nice work.

Just curious, why do you need it to be so portable?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 13 points 16 months ago

Long story short, I wanted to be able to game on the couch while my GF watches tv lol

We both work a lot, so instead of isolating myself in my gaming room when we're both home, it would be nice to at least be in her company : )

n1ghtr4v3n [2 Builds] 6 points 16 months ago

Thats exactly what I need! Otherwise she always complains or bugs you lol so in the end you neither game or spend time with gf and you F'n hate yourself. Good solution for the mankind of our era. :D

xSWATxBadkid [1 Build] 5 points 16 months ago

That is the most awesome thing I have seen on this website!

Epwna 3 points 16 months ago

Loving all the pics Jimmy :) Beastly per usual and one of a kind to boot

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 3 points 16 months ago

Thanks Epwna! <3 <3

Ultimateugabuga 3 points 16 months ago

This is one of the most amazing computer builds I've ever seen, nice job!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 16 months ago

Thank you!

th3m4dh4tt3r [1 Build] 3 points 16 months ago

Holy mother of god, this is beautiful!

Daxtinator15 [1 Build] 3 points 15 months ago

This. Is. Amazing.

GTXAMD 3 points 15 months ago

THIS IS EPIC, MOST INNOVATIVE GAMING BUILD I HAVE EVER SEEN, I love how its like a all in one chassis but its just more powerful (a bit more heavier too though) and its just gonna perform like a beast, hope u get a different cooler soon for overclocking and even better performance :D gonna build my own rig too, just that my graphics card wont be as good :D

Frostbyter 2 points 16 months ago

You deserve the golden star of computer building.

Kiyoshi 2 points 12 months ago

Also please tell me you live in orange county so I can pay you to help me put together my pc after I buy the parts haha, so innovative! the spacing and cooling looks freakin perfect

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 12 months ago

I wish I could just build PC's all day, totally a dream job =D I've helped a few friends do gaming builds recently, but I can't wait to show you guys what I'm working on for myself now... I don't know if you can see my parts lists but think this build, times 10! (sucks that of course I live in NYC btw lol)

TerraPosse [1 Build] 2 points 12 months ago

Spiffing well build there, old chap. doffing cap

If you require old suitcases in the future, I know a chap who's restoring them. Just don't tell him you're going to cut holes in his precious leather wares. ;-)

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 12 months ago

Thank you sir! I'll keep your acquaintance in mind, tough to find exactly what I wanted at first with a proper case : )

Darky1126 [1 Build] 2 points 12 months ago

******* awesome.

mamamia13 2 points 6 months ago

Thank you for using Asus. They are the best computer builders in quality and in overall beauty.

candy [2 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

Now i've seen it all. My life's purpose has been completed

Mincading [10 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

It's safe to take the case off the PSU? If so, I'm gonna do that for my next!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

It'll void the warranty for sure, and I don't think it's the safest thing to so I couldn't honestly recommend it. Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt, but it's not shooting sparks or anything dramatic like that

Mincading [10 Builds] 1 point 16 months ago

I've been reading online and people say to ground the PSU PCB, how did u do it? And I have a couple PSUs I could use that are strong and lying around :P

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 3 points 16 months ago

This particular PSU has the ground linked to the back panel of it, so luckily after disassembling it I was able to leave that intact : ) Definitely ground tho, good point for other people viewing this

Indloon [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Will you buy a after market cooler for CPU?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

I originally had a Zalman low profile CPU cooler set up in this, but was missing a bracket that someone had taken out of the box before I bought it -_- lol I figured once I get a replacement I could always add it, however the stock cooler is definitely doing a great job (surprisingly) so far =D

Indloon [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Hah! :D

And welcome to Titan owners club! ;D

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

hahaha thanks : )

Divdor [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

One of the neatest ideas I have seen in a while. Kudos for originality!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

I appreciate that thanks man : )

*I'm glad you like! : )

Javanode [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

Video or it didn't happen !!! I want to see every detail of this !!!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

I'll definitely be doing a video rundown of everything when I have some time off from work =D

Javanode [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

yay

Guerrero 1 point 16 months ago

I cant stand that TITAN on a 1366x768 monitor

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 16 months ago

...just imagine it when I play through this on my 60" Samsung in my living room then! ; )

Guerrero 1 point 16 months ago

Better

hero2016 1 point 16 months ago

Quite amazing, man. One sweet PC you built! Have fun!

sethi 1 point 16 months ago

WOWEE. single coolest build on the site, period. Saying it eats consoles is an understatement. One thing, for that kind of a build I would have gotten a better monitor. Your wasting the titan's power with a $70 monitor that runs 780p at 60fps. Its a huge bottleneck. I know you had size constraints, but considering everything you could have found something better. Overall kickass build

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 12 months ago

Definitely agree, but I run an HDMI cable out to a 120hz BenQ now when I have it parked in my livingroom, totally saw your comment 3 months late btw xD

EndeavorTrevor 1 point 16 months ago

That is without a doubt the most kick-ass build I have ever seen. Hats off to you.

Highwlaker [1 Build] 1 point 16 months ago

This, this is amazing! Where can I get a case like that? Is it custom built?

boofheadfred 1 point 5 months ago

It's actually a briefcase!

Express 1 point 16 months ago

How did you get the Titan to go in sideways?

boofheadfred 1 point 5 months ago

90 degree PCI-E adapter

BC1096 1 point 16 months ago

That is absolutely remarkable. Wow, just incredible work.

It's ganna be tough to bring that to an airport. Seeing wires coming out of a suitcase is a little sketchy

NinjaSlayer69 [1 Build] 1 point 15 months ago

BADASS!!! but for a 16 inch screen you could have got a 670 or 7970

Hakumisoso [2 Builds] 1 point 15 months ago

Be careful around those psu wires and capacitors!

Popocola 1 point 15 months ago

Lol screw getting a case im going to buy a briefcase like this :P

TheCotsman [1 Build] 1 point 15 months ago

Hey, First off I just want to say what an awesome build you have. It looks amazing and I love it. I'm thinking of making a build like this and I was wondering what kind of suitcase you used? Thanks! Caden

Magicguy38 1 point 14 months ago

how are you liking that monitor, because I'm going to use it in my build

superninjaleprechaun 1 point 14 months ago

that is epiiccc...... just wondering, do you like the black widow, and is it good quality/does it feel nice to type with?

anilms 1 point 13 months ago

This is brilliant. Pure creativity

[comment deleted by staff]

kennyrogers 1 point 13 months ago

Possibly the most amazing build i've seen, you should be very proud, keep it up you could sell it for tons for the amount of effort that has went into this!!!

fire9030 1 point 13 months ago

dude!!!! awesome build!!!!!! but aren't you worried about dust coming in the case?

fire9030 1 point 13 months ago

oh never mind. i see the cover in the first picture.

LookTopHats [2 Builds] 1 point 13 months ago

0_0 _

Jared.ditto 1 point 13 months ago

This looks amazing, but... Do you have problems with heat? It seems like it could become a huge concern if you're not careful.

FLYING_TACO 1 point 13 months ago

What size is your shoe!! O_o

Kiyoshi 1 point 12 months ago

What a beautiful build! only thing I would change is go with the i7 4770k haswell and a motherboard with 1150 slots for upgrading in the future, great job.

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 12 months ago

Thanks man, yes unfortunately I was mid-build when they announced the haswells! Minor differences true, working on a new portable and already grabbed the 4770k ; )

Relapseespaler 1 point 12 months ago

Only problem I foresee is cleaning it out. It must attract dust like crazy and having to take everything out may be simple, but bothersome. Overall awesome as hell.

Marcopolo 1 point 12 months ago

like a boss

geoben 1 point 12 months ago

Now i want to replace my laptop with this! amazing job!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 12 months ago

I know what you mean, it's taken the place of mine for sure

Rayyo 1 point 12 months ago

I am disappointed that you don't play starcraft 2

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 12 months ago

I have it, just need to get into it : )

ilian11 [1 Build] 1 point 12 months ago

This is awesome! Very creative and ultra solid build!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 12 months ago

Thank you!

Gooberdad [2 Builds] 1 point 11 months ago

Wow what a huge piece of Sh!.. Just kidding. That is really amazing. And this creation runs cool? Great job. Very inventive.

misterb98 [1 Build] 1 point 11 months ago

Can someone tell me what briefcase this is? I need to make something like this :)

Zakpearle 1 point 11 months ago

http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/6204/1286544760325.gif

yfw you go to America and they take a $3,000 computer away from you because it looks suspicious yfw someone isn't careful with it yfw the titan is broken because a minimum wage grunt broke it

[comment deleted]

MortarMelon 1 point 11 months ago

WHY

utkugul 1 point 11 months ago

i cant deny that you are the ******* Houdini of PC building but you should have gotten a better monitor. or a weaker less OP pc since the monitor is so Low res. also it has a 60 hz refresh rate which makes it worse. i love the build but that monitor is raping my OCD right now.

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 2 points 11 months ago

The monitor's just a bonus man, for portability. I plug this thing straight into any HDTV or something with HDMI connection and can play it at ALL resolutions =D

utkugul -3 points 11 months ago

HDMI is useless BTW. its just dvi with sound and it works with consoles.

BlastXin 1 point 5 months ago

hdmi is not terrible. It can handle sound and 1080p at 60Hz very fine. Unlike DVI or VGA, you will need extra cord for sound.

utkugul 1 point 4 months ago

Unless you use headphones... like most gamers...

utkugul 2 points 4 months ago

Actually pc users in general use headphones, not just gamers

cjeffcoatjr [3 Builds] 1 point 10 months ago

Brings a whole new meaning to folding at home...

Loveandpower 1 point 10 months ago

I think I am in love and love the custom build

inharspicable 1 point 10 months ago

that's a military grade laptop

dcmabry [1 Build] 1 point 10 months ago

lmao this is the coolest **** I've ever seen

man 1 point 9 months ago

you sir are a genius.+1

EmperorPhoenix 1 point 9 months ago

Can I buy one?

laserpigofdoom 1 point 9 months ago

It's pretty cool that you built that in a briefcase! Mine's being built inside of a mini fridge.

RoyalZedd 1 point 9 months ago

Hey man idk if you even read these anymore but I kinda have, almost a challenge for you. I've stumbled upon your build as a gaming pc builder myself. I've been trying to figure out how to build a portable pc that's the size of a laptop, maybe even an inch or two thicker. I've had some difficulty in this but your build gives me hope. If you could email me MiKoEverton@gmail.com sometime maybe we could talk.

coryjamesking [1 Build] 1 point 9 months ago

but how much was the suitcase!?

SturmWurbler 1 point 8 months ago

I had this idea a while back! Just a shame I do not have the money, by any stretch of the imagination, to do so.

peanutbutter 1 point 8 months ago

A 2 way SLI might have been a bit more cost effective, but either way great build. The monitor doesn't exactly complement the system though, take advantage of that monster card you have and upgrade!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 8 months ago

Since it's portable I bring it around with me and plug into whatever screens (and higher resolutions) that are available : )

groww4441 1 point 8 months ago

How much does one weigh after build? :D and i'm not talking about the computer...

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 8 months ago

lmao +1

www.twitter.com/jimmysnakes

americaneagl [1 Build] 1 point 8 months ago

Great concept! Would love to see this cleaned up a bit though as it seems thrown together, wouldn't be too safe traveling without some kind of mounting system for the components.

Caged_Rage [1 Build] 1 point 8 months ago

My whole computer is about half the cost of the graphics card. Why am I crying...

Highpancake 1 point 8 months ago

Wow

kirk.tompkinson 1 point 8 months ago

Awesome idea, really original! I do have to ask though, how many warranties did you have to void to make this work?

sittinlowep3 1 point 8 months ago

fkin DOPE

Fullsome [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Amazing

elias2001 [1 Build] 1 point 7 months ago

Can that play minesweeper.

jumboromo 1 point 7 months ago

who needs a laptop

mac 1 point 7 months ago

Had the "Briefcase PC" idea, shame to see I've already been beat to it. ;)Love the idea of the hinged keyboard and the tubed cables coming out, I had thought of the monitor in the top and the wiring into the PSU but couldn't think of any good way to manage a keyboard and wires sticking out. Definitely gonna have to try a build like this sometime, wonder just how small a PC like this can get...

codydavidson 1 point 7 months ago

LOL. I've wanted to do a very similar build for a while. Hats off to you.

TheNewGuy01 1 point 7 months ago

I'm going to be brief with you. I think this build would suit almost anyones needs! Good job! What?…What is so funny?

dromni 1 point 7 months ago

Can you do like a building video or something, good sir?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 6 months ago

I'm doing a build video on my current project, another portable gaming PC with 3 ipad lcd retina displays as monitors in surround mode, for a total of 6144x1536 resolution display : )

JCanadian 1 point 6 months ago

woah, great build, and nice part selection for it

BrysonShires 1 point 6 months ago

Case???

bchurch 1 point 6 months ago

I have always wanted to do something like this, kinda like a thick laptop that folds into a briefcase.

sober159 [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

whooaa dude this is sick. Isn't it too loud with all those fans?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

A huge reason I went with the Titan was because it operates at a much quieter (not to mention cooler) capacity...you can barely hear it when I have the sound muted and it's indecernable with the speakers on =D

ThermalCrafter 1 point 5 months ago

How big is the case. LxWxH?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

The case itself is 16" long, 11" wide and only 4.5" deep

ThermalCrafter 1 point 5 months ago

Thank you i want to build one but it seems hard

boofheadfred 1 point 5 months ago

You sir, are a genius! Have a +1!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

Thank you sir!

boofheadfred 1 point 5 months ago

What brand and model briefcase as I may build something like this for my friend. Was it as easy as a normal PC build or harder? How did you wire in a power button? Have a +1!

boofheadfred 1 point 5 months ago

Oh yeah, I would be using an APU which would make the build easier, and also better airflow (no GPU to get in the way). Is this a good idea for a lower budget?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

It's kind of an obscure briefcase I found at a thrift shop, 16"x11"x4.5" dimensions. For a power button I just purchased a replacement motherboard header kit, you could actually probably just use an original PC case's kit if you take the time to pull it from there. It was a little harder to build but if you plan the layout in advance and jott down your measurements as you go, you'll do fine : ) This case is pretty small, 16"x11"x4.5", so you could even use a slightly larger case and get some great results

How was the windows 7 install using an OEM copy?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

No issues : ) Just remember if you plan to use more than 16gb of ram to grab windows professional because the basic home edition only utilizes up to 16gb

Looks nice! I am pretty new here, and have searched around. If you guys would give feedback on my build I'm planning, it would be appreciated http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Efultxd/saved/4emO

Nice but why only a full 720p monitor?

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

The monitor I installed is really only used when I'm in a remote location, usually I place the briefcase down and plug into a large tv at a friend's house or my larger monitor at work.

That is one of the most original ideas I've seen.

erasedhammer 1 point 5 months ago

In the briefcase, is that a monitor or a laptop screen screwed into the case?

Im building my own build similar to this, and I was wondering if I should get a laptop screen, or a monitor to put in it.

This build is pretty awesome considering the beast specs and pretty small form factor DIY case, no complaint against that, however, I don't know if it's that great for long term portability, but I didn't see it myself, so I don't know. I would've put in a HDD for mass storage, because SSD has shorter lifespan. Your 15.6" display is good for the size, no offense against 1366x768 res, since you use your PC a lot on TV. The i7 is a good choice because it has low TDP and lot performance.

If I were you I would do some major tweaks to slim the case down & save power. The parts I would replace is following:

8GB DDR3-1600 RAM Only one 500GB SSD 1TB 7200RPM HDD GeForce GTX 750 Ti (lot less performance but most power efficient + VERY SMALL)

An awesome addition would be if you add 12V batteries which are found in motorbikes, which is about 6x4x3 inches, so you can play games ON THE GO!!!

jimmythesnake [Submitter] [1 Build] 1 point 5 months ago

Great recommendations, staying with SSD I did recently upgrade to a single 1tb mSata SSD, since a normal HDD is unable to fit in such a tight space. How cool would that be to be able to use this anywhere with a portable battery?? =D After much research I've found that even the smallest amount of portable power I could implement would add significant weight to the briefcase : / But these ideas would probably be viable in the near future for sure!

On the topic of screen size, just wait till I finish this next portable build... 6144x1536 resolution! =D

BlastXin 1 point 5 months ago

he said he is hooking that computer to a 1080p TV. He knows why he wants GTX TITAN (even though looks too much compared to 780 Ti), because he is probably playing high-end games like AC4 and Metro at max graphic settings and 60+ frames per second. Yes, for me it would be overkill since I can live with lower settings (somewhere mid/high)and 40-50 frames per second.

BlastXin 1 point 5 months ago

he is using that on a TV as well. The 15" in the case is when there is no other display around.
