I know, way overkill for Dota 2, right? Actually although Dota 2 has become my favorite game as of late I love the visuals that I get in all of today's blockbuster titles with this rig. I am thrilled to see that I am boasting better-than-Titan numbers on 3dMark (see above)! This rig should serve me for years to come, although I will most likely ugrade it before then.
Reasons for my components:
CPU: Wanted to show some AMD love. Seriously, with games moving toward multi-threading I want to be ahead of the curve. The FX8350 is a beast! I have OC'ed her to 4.8, but I see no point with Dota 2 being my primary game of choice at the moment. The above scores reflect a 4.6 stable OC.
CPU Cooling: Corsair H100i. Nuff Said.
RAM: Vengence 2x4GB DDR3- 1600. Low cost. Compatible. Highly rated.
Mobo: Asus ROG Crosshair V Fomula-Z ATX AM3+: The sickest Mobo that I could fnd for my CPU.
Storage: A couple of SSDs and a Cavier Blue. They do their job.
PSU: OCZ 700W: If there is a bottleneck it is here. This PSU does the job, but barely. I have scene some voltage drops and need a new PSU badly. Do to this I have decided to turn back my OC and shut down crossfire until I upgrade for fear of burning out my components do to surges. Waiting for Black Friday.
Videocards: Crossfired Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 XTs that kick some serious butt! I have them OC'ed to 7950 speeds and man do they crank out some serious graphics. I am looking forward to see what AMD can do with their new Mantle technology with these suckers!
Peripherals: See below. I love how they all go so well with the build theme- red glow and black and white. I think it ties it all together giving it a professionally build rig-look at a fraction of the price. To top it all off it is a one-of-a-ind that I am truly proud of and a joy to jam on!
