My goal with this project was to spend as little money as possible while building something that I could play most modern games on Ultra/High settings. Which is why I reused as many parts from old comps I have and spent most of my money on the CPU & GPU. I was also able to get Win 7 Pro from work for free so that was awesome.
I'm not going to go through all the parts because they are all very common parts, but I will say that I really like these new UEFI mobos. This ASRock makes it very easy to play with the components of your computer. I am however pissed I didn't get my I/O shield with mine and have not heard from support yet.
The MSI 7870 came with a free copy of Crysis 3, so big score at that price IMO. Also noticed a lot of people on newegg saying it runs hot but I have not experienced this yet.
Also, I got $53 off of the case at officemax because I was able to use someone elses Maxperks, that is why it was so cheap.
I could have saved another $10 by scoring that 840 for 89.99 this past week at newegg and I could have got the Mobo for $ 85 if I had waited but it was the last part I needed and want to get this show on the road.
