This is a build I put together for a friend. At first he had someone else pick out some parts for him ($1,500 budget), and he showed the list to me. It was pretty weird, 4570 with an expensive z87 board, $30 case fans, $50 fan controller, 1tb HDD and a GTX 660 ti. I told him I could put together a 4670k/GTX 770 build for about the same price if not less. After a bit of persuasion he let me put this together for him. We got all of the parts except for the case and monitor from Microcenter because he was having issues with his bank and debit card.
The build went smooth except for one thing, the power supply. You'll notice in the first two images there's a CX750M in the shots, and later there is a PC power Silencer MK III 600w. Well the CX750M had some horrible coil whine when running 3Dmark, so I swapped it for the PC power which is based on a seasonic unit and made by OCZ.
After that everything ran just fine. It's not overclocked at the moment because I won't have time to stability test it before he takes it home, and he would have no idea what to do if there was a problem.
The GPU is quiet, the Hyper 212 is not as loud as I thought it would be, and the whole setup runs pretty smooth.
